I have a lot of people who has known me and seen me going through life have encouraged me to start to write a blog so I can inspire others. So here I am, starting to write and hoping that I can encourage and inspire others to live life to the fullest.
My parents always treat me as a normal person since I was in young age. I went to normal school instead of a special schools. I did the school tests in every schools that I enrolled in. Most of the time, the schools were hesitant to accept a disability kid in a “normal school”. but I passed all my test to enter those schools. In the end, my parents decided to put me into a private school where they know one of the teachers. Their consideration were so that I felt secure in the “normal” school. They were also deep down felt scared and unsure whether I could survive in “normal” school.
I really love my mum so much! obv, if you’re born normal, it’s all come naturally like to write, wear your clothes, tie your shoelaces etc. You have no worries to do all things independently. However, being born with one arm has its own challenges. My mum always wanted me to grow up as an independent person. Not a person who relies on someone. So, she taught me to write with left hand, cut paper with one hand, tie my shoelaces, etc. This wasn’t easy for her as she’s a righty. Now my mum can use either hands, handy ey! 😛
Of course, growing up all the kids from other classes or schools were always looking at me and sometimes they were making fun of my arm. But my parents always told me to look back at those kids and told them off. LOL. I was never got bullied at school. ha! I survived all primary and high school. I have so many friends who went to the same school ( we spent 12 years together) and we’ve become like family. My friends have never seen and treated me differently. My school friends always encouraging me.
I will blog more on my life after high school next time. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more stories.
